Definitely a form of Art

Saw a few films in past couple of days. I will offer no politically charged, motivated or tailored views - at least on one of them. All three have been interesting in their own way and certainly very watchable. I will rate this on my David and Margaret scale of 1-5. Synopsis for first two films from this website also.
1. The Squid and The Whale: 3.5/5
An intricately layered look at divorce, interwoven with emotional tension, humour and the realities of a family in transition learning to redefine itself.
2. V for Vendetta: 4.5/5
Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britian, this is the story of a young working-class woman, Evey, who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked man known only as “V”.
3. Theatre of Blood: 3.5/5
My comments: Considered to be Vincent Price’s finest work, this is a somewhat campy, black comedy-horror film in which over 6 tonnes of fake blood was used in production. He plays a Shakespearean actor (Edward Lionheart) bent on revenge against the circle of eight theatre critics who denied him a best actor award two years prior.
Also caught a little bit of Your Friends and Neighbors on TV - a film about a theatre teacher (Ben Stiller) who has an affair with a married friend/acquaintance (Amy Brenneman). This is the catalyst for events that will impact their current partners etc. and complicate many, many things for them and others. This had the potential to be funny, however the thought of Vincent Price at his best won out.
